We’ve made it! Run over a year now, and at a full 50 volumes of Mixtape Monday! I’m still trying to figure out how this is going to evolve and continue going forward, but I know it’l continue being fun with new music, vibes, and energy with each issue. This week’s mix is fairly Dilla centered but it expands and explores all different genres and moods. This week’s mix will feature J Dilla himself, De La Soul, Kid Cudi, Kendrick Lamar, MF DOOM, Thundercat, Travis Scott, Kanye West, Nas, Common, The Last Poets, Slum Village, Phonte, Robert Glasper, yasiin bey, and Watts Prophets.
We’re back again with another Mixtape Monday – this week week keeping it simple and straight with some jazzy hip hop beats, some classics, some fresh new tracks. This week’s mix is themed around artists who’ve had difficult times, situations or struggles, and found a distinctly creative way to work out of it. Aptly named Mixtape Monday, Ad Mire, these are creatives I look up to, and songs I can turn to when I’m in a rut myself – even when the circumstances are worlds apart.
This week we’re featuring Knox Brown, Nas, Isaiah Rashad, Killer Mike, Rapsody, Common, J Dilla, D’Angelo, Jay Rock, Kendrick, and Lil Wayne. Enjoy!
Here we are, over a year and more than 40 mixtapes later, Mixtape Monday: About A Year Latr is here! I’m going to do a full round up later in the week, but for the time being let’s knock this Labor Day Holiday mix outta the park. This week’s mix is full of pounding bass, beautiful jazzy melodies, a lil pop, and some beautiful soul sensibilities with a full line up including Blackalicious, Vince Staples, Duckwrth, Wretch 32, Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean, Knox Brown, De La Soul, Snopp Dogg, Little Simz, Why Fi, Mick Jenkins, Sampha, and Bon Iver.
Hope you enjoy!
